About "The Betty"

The house is named in honor of Betty Whitney its previous Owner. Betty and Bill Whitney developed this area in Jackson, first opening the Black Mountain Ski Resort and, the Whitney Inn and last but not least, the Shovel Handle Pub, all of which is a short walk from the property. Betty lived to the age of 104 leaving much of her estate to the Town of Jackson.

The Betty is approximately 2400 square feet plus a two car garage and an porch which runs alone the ease side which is partially screened. Heated with oil/hot water, with 5 zones. Domestic hot water is supplied from a 80 gallon tank. The drinking water is delicious well water which is tested annually. The Betty was designed for two level living Adults on the main level and children on the lower level.

The home is located on two acres of land abutting Black Mountain J bar ski slope The front of the house faces South which looks at the J bar ski slope and the Attitash Mountains .

The ski slope is used as a pasture for horses in the summer which may be rented at Black Mountain ski resort From the side deck and Master Bed room the Betty looks at Doublehead Mountain and the Jackson Country side.
